Property Location Conveniently located on Southbridge Street in Downtown Worcester in close proximity to Worcester Central Business District, Worcester Center Office Towers and Outlet Mall, Worcester Centrum Convention Center and the spectacular new Worcester Medical City Project.

Property History Originally built in 1972, the property was successfully operated as a 210-room full-service hospitality property operated first by Holiday Inns of America (1972-1980) and then Quality Inns (1980-1987). In 1987, the hotel was closed and the property underwent a major $8,700,000 conversion renovation project to a 138-unit residential condominium development featuring studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units priced between $45,000 and $120,000. Up until the real estate market collapse in 1988-1989, thirty-eight (38) residential units ans eighteen (18) of the 176 parking spaces on site were sold to private investors and owner/occupants.

In 1990, a decision was made to convert the 100 unsold residential units back to a Clarion Suites hotel format which required an additional capital investment in the property owners to $700,000. In 1998, a decision was made by the property owners to terminate the Clarion management agreement and they decided to independently manage and operate the property as the Regency Suites Hotel.
